week 6 tutorial discussion
(wikipedia)
Hypertext is text displayed on a computer or other electronic device with references (hyperlinks) to other text that the reader can immediately access, usually by a mouse click or keypress sequence. Apart from running text, hypertext may contain tables, images and other presentational devices. Hypertext is the underlying concept defining the structure of the World Wide Web, making it an easy-to-use and flexible format to share information over the Internet.
• A hypertext is a non-linear text that connects various elements (nodes, pages) through links.
• “Hypertext is text with links, or pointers, showing relationships between parts of the information.
From the Wikipedia: “ In computing, hypertext is a user interface paradigm for displaying documents which, according to an early definition (Nelson 1970), "branch or perform on request." The most frequently discussed form of hypertext document contains automated cross-references to other documents called hyperlinks. Selecting a hyperlink causes the computer to load and display the linked document.”
HYPERLINK
Hyperlinks( techterms.com) http://www.techterms.com/definition/hyperlink
A hyperlink is a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document or a new section within the current document. Hyperlinks are found in nearly all Web pages, allowing users to click their way from page to page. Text hyperlinks are often blue and underlined, but don't have to be. When you move the cursor over a hyperlink, whether it is text or an image, the arrow should change to a small hand pointing at the link. When you click it, a new page or place in the current page will open.
Hyperlinks, often referred to as just "links," are common in Web pages, but can be found in other hypertext documents. These include certain encyclopedias, glossaries, dictionaries, and other references that use hyperlinks. The links act the same way as they do on the Web, allowing the user to jump from page to page. Basically, hyperlinks allow people to browse information at hyperspeed
Webopedia
An element in an electronic document that links to another place in the same document or to an entirely different document. Typically, you click on the hyperlink to follow the link. Hyperlinks are the most essential ingredient of all hypertext systems, including the World Wide Web.
HYPERMEDIA
Webopedia (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/h/hypermedia.html )
An extension to hypertext that supports linking graphics, sound, and video elements in addition to text elements. The World Wide Web is a partial hypermedia system since is supports graphical hyperlinks and links to sound and video files. New hypermedia systems under development will allow objects in computer videos to be hyperlinked.
. Hypermedia extends the concept of hypertext - information with links - to collections including text, audio, video, photographs, or any multisensory combination” (Alessi & Trollop, 2001:138).
Hypermedia is the generalization of hypertext to include other kinds of media: images, audio clips and video clips are typically supported in addition to text. Individual chunks of information are usually referred to as documents or nodes, and the connections between them as links or hyperlinks the so-called node-link hypermedia model. The entire set of nodes and links forms a graph network. A distinct set of nodes and links which constitutes a logical entity or work is called a hyperdocument; a distinct subset of hyperlinks is often called a hyperweb. Weeks 4 Discussion
1) i chose the most suitable programme to use, then collect all the pictures needed in this reproducing. After that start inserting pictures in Microsoft Powerpoint that has been chosen then the typing. Lastly change the format to make it easier to upload to blogspot.
2)The pictures were found in yahoo.com and google.com under the click of IMAGES.
3) Because the format used in this reproducing is powerpoint presentation and with this format, i cannot upload to blogspot, therefore i have to change the format from powerpoint presentation to JPEG by clicking save then save as type: choose JPEG... with this JPEG format, it is easier to upload or to view as a picture.
4)How did i type? erm, well since i did not attend any typing class before, i will just type with fingers that im comfortable with .Well i can type with my eyes on the screen.
5) Well, i did not use any of the tool like spell check, grammar check and graphic enhancement. Firstly, because this advertisement is from the newspaper, i believe it will not have any error in spelling and grammar. Secondly, this reproducing is consider quite easy , all i have to do is just insert the pictures i've saved, then do some typing using textbox and also adjusting those pictures. Therefore tool like grapic enhancement is not needed.
6) I did ask my neighbour in the lab which is Christopher about his opinion of what i had did. He answered me not bad and he said what i did is almost exactly like in the advertisement. And when i was chosen to present my work in front of the class, my classmates said it did look like exactly the same in the first glimpse somehow it is different when they put their eyes on it.
7) I rate myself 6 out of 10 because im still in the process of learning more about the programmes in the computer. Somehow i consider myself as a good typist because i can type quite fast and do typing by looking at the screen.

Discussion for tutorial week 3
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS :
Information Technology (IT)
According to Oxford Dictionary, IT is the study or use of systems such as computers and telecommunications for storing, retrieving and sending information. But in wikipedia, it is written that IT is "the study ,design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. For more information, please visit : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_technology
Information Communication Technology (ICT)
It is an electronic systems used for communication between individuals or groups. Communication technology facilitates communication between individuals or groups who are not physically present at the same location. Systems such as telephones, telex, fax, radio, television as well as more recent computer-based technologies, including electronic data interchange and e-mail. Also, ICT is an umbrella term that includes all technologies for the manipulation and communication of information. The term is sometimes used in preference to Information Technology (IT), particularly in two communities : education and government.
Internet.
According to Oxford Dictionary, internet is a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities. From wikipedia, the internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public ademic, business government networks of local to global scope that are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies. The internet carries a vast array of information resources and services, most notably the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (www) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail. To know more : visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet .
Computer Mediated Communication
It is defined as any communicative transaction that occurs through the use of two or more networked computers. While the term has traditionally referred to those communications that occur via computer- mediated formats (e.g: instant messages, e-mails, chat rooms), it has also been applied to other forms of text- based interaction such as text messaging. To find out more please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-mediated_communication or http://edutechwiki.unige.ch/en/Computer-mediated_communication . Netiquette
It is a set of social conventions that facilitate interaction over networks, ranging from Usenet and mailing lists to blogs and forums. There rules were described in IETF RFC 1855. However, like many Internet phenomena, the concept and its application remain in a state of flux, and vary from community to community. The points most strongly emphasized about USENET netiquette often include using simple electronic signatures, and avoiding multiposting. to read more please visit : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette or http://www.learnthenet.com/english/html/09NETIQT.HTM
Web browser
A Web Browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web (WWW). An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URL) and may be a web page, image, video, or other piece of content. For more information please log on to : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_browser . List of web browser also can be found in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers
Navigating the web
The action of facilitating the movement from one web page to anther web page. It is somehow often taken for granted but somehow it plays a crucial role in getting site visitors to view more than just the homepage.
